Introduction
The Philippines is investing heavily in developing its transport sector, including national and urban transportation. The Subic-Clark-Manila-Batangas Railway (SCMB Railway) is part of the plan to create a logistics hub in Central Luzon, linking the port of Batangas to Manila and the port of Subik to Clark.
Swedfund has been asked to support the implementation of a more efficient and sustainable railway system in the Philippines, mainly for freight and eventually passengers.
